All you need to know about horses. E.G grooming, feeding, tacking and parts of the horse and websites.

Grooming

Grooming is very important! Because horses can get very dirty and it effects there skin, also fly's are attracted to the horses skin and can lay eggs on the skin.

Face brush is usually the smallest brush you can get and it can be used for the horses face. But be careful around their eyes!

Mane and tail brush can come in all colours it brushes the mane and tail.

Body brush is as you proberly know that it is used for the body, BUT don’t forget to brush the chester because if you put the girth on for a long time it can rub which hurts the horse.

Hoof pick is a very important thing which needs to be used everyday on the horse, it is a pick that you can pick out all the stones from the horses hoof and if they don’t get it done everyday it could cause infection in their hoof.

Feeding

Feeding a horse could possibly the most important thing of looking after a horse.

Horse nuts: These are very tasty for horse and ponies they usually have lots although if they are on a diet they cant have too much.

Horse mash: This needs to be in a horse food bowl every time you feed a horse its one of main foods.

Garlic: As you might know garlic keeps the fly's away from the horses eyes.

Tacking up

Saddle: Is placed on the horses back before you can ride the horse. It is strapped round the belly with a girth that keeps it on.

Bridle: The bridle is kept on the face and its attached to the rains which you hold.

Nun na: The nun na is the thing that sits under the saddle so that the saddle doesn’t rub when you ride the horse.
